The temple of Emerald Buddha
It is also called as Wat Pre Kaew in local language. It was built within the grounds of Grand Palace and is most visited in Bangkok. The most significant feature of Wat Pra Kaew is the Buddha which was curved into 66 centimeter tall block of jade. You can visit this temple everyday fro 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
The Temple of Reclining Buddha
The Temple of Reclining Buddha, more familiar with the name of Wat Pho, is famous for its 46 meter long and 15 meter high statue. The statue was covered in gold leaf. Its feet are inlaid with mother-of-pearl, depicting the 108 auspicious signs of Buddha. The temples is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The Temple of Dawn
The Temple of Dawn or Wat Arun, built in 17th century, is located on Thonburi side of Banwgkok and almost opposite to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. This temple is very famous and considered as the symbol of Thailand. You can see its image on Thailand currency. If it is possible, try to make some photographs of Wat Arun at sunset. The temple is open to visitors form 8:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday.
The Golden Mount
The Golden Mount or Wat Saket is another beautiful temple in Bangkok that will draw you to its grounds for its unique landmarks. Once climbing up to the top of the hill, you will see the over view of Bangkok. Many visitors say that it seems like they entered two worlds at the same time: the ancient times and the modern times. You can visit this temple everyday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Wat Traimit
The temple is very graceful in its white and gold color. It is famous for not only its architecture but also for one of the largest gold solid Buddha statue inside. The statue, 5 meters in height, five and a half tons in weight, was made between 13th and 14th century. the statue was coating by stucco and plaster and until 1955 was discovered the gold hidden underneath. The temple is open from 9:00 am to 5: pm everyday.
